Festivals and Holidays

You Should Experience in Georgia

One of the most beautiful things about living in Georgia is how people celebrate life. It doesn’t matter where you’re from, because when there’s a festival, you’re instantly part of the family.

Take Tbilisoba , for example. Every year in October, the capital turns into one huge celebration. Streets fill with loudly laughing people, the sound of music, and fresh-baked khachapuri. Families walk together, friends gather in parks, and strangers smile like they have known each other forever. It’s not just a festival; it is a feeling of belonging.

Then comes New Year and Christmas, which in Georgia have their own special magic. Since Georgians celebrate Christmas on January 7th, the festive spirit stretches longer than usual. You’ll see lights twinkling across Tbilisi, hear carols in the streets, and taste homemade dishes that warm your heart as much as your stomach.

Another time when traditions shine through in Georgia is at Easter, be it the gentle act of dyeing eggs red or the joy of sharing a meal with family. It reminds one to be grateful, faithful, and connected.

And if ever you’re invited to Rtveli, the grape harvest festival, say yes! You’ll pick grapes, stomp them barefoot, and end the day sharing fresh wine and stories with new friends.

In Georgia, festivals aren’t just days on a calendar, they’re moments that make you feel alive, welcome, and truly at home.
